Our super beaut Andrea popped in for a catch up after her season in Milan, letting us in on all the gossip during her time with Nologo Model Management.
What inspired you to become a model?
I think it was probably seeing Cindy Crawford and all of the beautiful 90’s supermodels on TV, I was hooked! I used to steal my mum’s high heels and strut up and down, using our hallway as a catwalk.
What were your biggest fears about joining the industry and how do you feel now?
I had the initial thoughts that all models probably have about the industry, that it’s scary and all about being stick thin and watching your weight. I think the industry has changed so much and still changing and adapting everyday, as long as you exercise and look after yourself there’s no stopping you!
Now for the exciting bit, how was it living in Milan?
It was incredibly surreal, you go out there expecting the unexpected and it’s so much more! I’ve worked in London and obviously Manchester and it was just so different, couldn’t believe how geared towards modelling the whole city is. The city is insanely beautiful and people so kind and if I can say, the nights out are crazy! It was fab when my bookers came out to meet me in Milan, to catch up over wine and talk through my experiences and panics – it definitely helped me feel more confident.
Did you notice a difference in the industry and would you work internationally again?
If the chance came up again 100 percent, it’s just too good of a opportunity not to. You get a real insight into lifestyle and how different but colourful everyone’s lives are! Also the experience of modelling internationally just helps you grow up a little and gives you a realistic but amazing insight to the world of modelling.
What’s the craziest thing you got up to in Milan?
We had this crazy but cool night out, one of the clients we had been working for wanted to take all of the team out, they took us to a incredible seafood restaurant and spent over 20,000 Euros on everyone – there were massive bottles of champagne and lobsters flying around everywhere 😀
After everything you’ve learnt in Milan, what would your dream modelling job be?
Even before Milan I’ve always wanted to do a commercial, a really fun and sassy shoot. I love the Boohoo and Pretty little thing adverts, they look like so much fun and full of energy and laughs. The styling’s insane and locations are always super cool. That would definitely be a dream job.
Finally, what would be your advise to aspiring models or models looking to travel?
I would say, do your research and know what you’re getting yourself in for 🙂 Stay confident, believe in yourself and don’t compare or doubt yourself when you see other models. Just know that you’ve been asked to go out just as much as everyone else and you’re worth it completely.
