The super cool chick Reanna headed into J’adore HQ ( with a gorgeous steal-worthy hat, might we add! ) for some new digis and to arrange some exciting new plans for the next few months! Read all about Reanna’s nerdy school days and her journey on becoming one of J’adore’s petite gals!
What inspired you to become a model?
Probably my mum. We used to watch Britain’s Next Top Model and she would always be saying, “That should be you!”. I really lacked confidence, so without the influence and push of my mum I definitely wouldn’t of decided to apply for J’adore.
What were your biggest fears about joining the industry and how do you feel now?
My biggest fear was my height, I’m only 5’3″ so never believed there was even a slight possibility of becoming a model. As they say, times are changing and the industry has developed and is open to pretty much everyone no matter your shape, size, ethnicity. J’adore didn’t doubt me on first glance, they saw me for me and worked with the advantage of specializing me as one of their petite girls.
What tips would you give to someone looking to start out their modelling career?
I’d always just tell anyone new to modelling to just go for it! Don’t let height get you down and embrace yourself, flaws and all. Always do as much testing as you can as this will benefit you in the long run, a true models will never stop testing. Also new scenarios are good so always say YES! My confidence is totally sky high and that’s all down to belief, feedback and a passion in what I do. (P.S. and obvs J’adore)
Are you planning on going to any festivals this year?
I’m going to Benicassim this year. I’ve never been before so I’m unbelievably excited! I’m also going to Barcelona for a few days afterwards which will be nice to have little chill after a mental few days.
What’s the best book you’ve read recently?
I’ve just finished 1984 by George Orwell it’s an absolute Penguin classic haha!
What’s your guiltiest pleasure?
A hundred percent it’s sleep. I would pick ten more minutes sleep over any other thing in my world. Food would probably come second but sleep is just my thing!
What’s your favourite food?
I love any food. Put any food in front of me and I will demolish it! I think my favourite though would have to be Dim Sum at ‘Ye Ban’ where I go with my dad. It’s our place to go, we don’t see each other too often so it’s always a place that is full of memories – plus the food is incredible.
What are your fave fashion trends and brands so far this year?
I am obsessed with Gingham. I love it. It’s just so summery and eye catching and I think it suits almost everyone. Tassels would also be a favourite trend at the moment, it just adds a little something to you outfit.
What were you like at school and were you always planning on becoming a model?
I was quite nerdy to be honest. I kept myself to myself and was a bit of a book worm. I think that’s where I lost a lot of my confidence. I think modelling was always something I had in the back of my mind, but who doesn’t think about becoming a model. When I look back and think about it like that I have achieved so much!
Finally what would be your dream modelling job?
Definitely Topshop – I work there at the moment and I’d love to appear on one of the campaigns, in store one day and hand in my notice the same day haha!
